Operational and Legal Support for Clients in the Course of Time Charter Operations

To minimize operational and legal risks, and ensure maximum cost efficiency for the charterer during voyage execution.

Bunker Arrangements (Fuel Supply):

  • Analysis of optimal fuel suppliers along the vessel’s route;
  • Negotiations and coordination of the most favorable prices with bunker companies;
  • Prompt search for suppliers in the vessel’s current location (using our own database in Russia and abroad);
  • Monitoring of delivery timing and proper documentation;
  • If necessary – coordination of ETA/ETD conditions related to bunkering.

Cooperation with Port Agents:

  • Nomination of agents in loading and discharging ports, canal zones, and straits;
  • Review and verification of disbursement account (DA) proformas;
  • Negotiations aimed at reducing agency fees;
  • Consultations on selecting reliable agents based on port specifics and cargo type.

Chartering Consultancy:

  • Selection of vessels with appropriate DWT depending on voyage profile;
  • Calculation of Time Charter Equivalent (TCE);
  • Consultations on spot and time charter market rates.

Voyage Documentation Management:

  • Preparation and distribution of voyage instructions to the Master;
  • Monitoring vessel performance in accordance with voyage instructions (communication with Master/ship manager);
  • Supervision of timely dispatch and accuracy of Statement of Facts (SOF) and NOR.

Demurrage and Despatch Handling:

  • Laytime/demurrage calculations;
  • Negotiations with involved parties to resolve disputes;
  • Involvement of in-house legal experts when necessary.

Legal Support:

  • Review and legal analysis of charter parties, riders, and LOIs;
  • Advice on force majeure situations (weather delays, sanctions-related issues, port refusals, etc.);
  • Support in interactions with owners, agents, and P&I Clubs.

Additional Services (upon request):

  • Preparation of analytical voyage reports;
  • Profitability assessment of voyages / port calls;
  • Representation of client’s interests in negotiations with owners/brokers.
